Renny's Sale Video

Blue Easy Renegade "Renny" was born May 3, 2008 by Blue Who out of Docs Unspeckled Rock. Blue Who is a cross-welsh pony owned by Sugarbrook Farm and Docs Unspeckled Rock is a triple-registered mare with the American Paint Horse Association (APHA), Foundation Horse Registry, and is a First Premium North American Sport Pony (NASPR). Renny was registered as a weanling and has original papers for NASPR.

Renny's sport pony heritage runs generations deep.  He is by Blue Who by Blue Rain by Cymraeg Rain Beau by Farnley Lustre. Often noted as the "sire of the century," Farnley Lustre is Renny's paternal great-great grandsire on top and bottom.  Between 2004-2010, Blue Rain was the USEF Champion #1 leading hunter pony sire six times! This year, 2010, the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has Renny's sire, and paternal grandsire and great-grandsire listed in the Top 51 of leading hunter pony sires.  Their rankings are Blue Who (#44), Blue Rain (#1) and Cymraeg Rain Beau (#51).  Over the past years, his paternal sires are routinely in the top 10 in USEF hunter and jumper pony sire rankings.

He is currently 29 months old and has a number of good qualities. He has his father's good nature, kind spirit, and flowing movements. He has his mother's athleticism and agility from her cutting and reining background. Currently, Renny long-lines, longes, trots-in-hand, jumps cavaletti, and quietly wears his saddle and bridle. He has a sensible work ethic and a loving fun nature.

Renny's Thoughtful Nature

This little photo captures Renny's thoughtful nature.  He's an intelligent pony who wants to please and learn.  I find him to be a one-trial learner who responds positively to a happy lesson and then can put it aside for many days and come back to the task with improved skill and eagerness.

Renny's First Week of Life!

Renny was born on a rainy night on May 3, 2008.  The rule of thumb is 1-2-3, in the first hour learn to stand, second hour nurse, and by the third hour pass meconium.  Renny was born in blooming vibrant health, so he did his 1-2-3 in 45 minutes flat, standing, nursing and passing his stool rapidly.  And in the morning when he was led from his stall for the first time, he sent his tired mother on a merry chase, as he jetted around his pasture with speed, power and exuberance.

Renny Learning from His Mom!

Here are a few photos from Renny's first summer in 2008, as he learned to eat like a big boy from his patient good mother.

Renny's First Kiss

Renny has been well-socialized by loving humans over his first and second year of life, but he's also had a real chance to be a horse.  In his first summer, his pasture pal was an appendix foal, Ruthie, who was Renny's first kiss.  Later that year, he was part of  a diverse herd of 5-7 juvenile and weanling horses.  And in Spring, Summer and Fall 2009, he was pasture pals with three weanlings who he bossed around happily.  And now at his beautiful home at St. George Equestrian Center in Whitehouse, Renny hangs with the bachelors, pasturing with a herd of 6 geldings.

Running to His Visitor

Renny is a gregarious, bright, well-socialized pony who loves company.  So, he will always come running to meet a pasture friend.  Here's a photo in his first summer, as he comes running to visit me, his owner and Grama.

Renny the Adventurer

From the very beginning, Renny showed that he has pony intelligence and a sociable nature.  He was always catching us by surprise with his smarts.  He once shared a pasture with a steep hill which had no fence along the top line.  No horse had attempted the grade before.  But one morning, Renny just suddenly appeared around the corner of the barn, joining the morning stall cleaners with a bright happy look.  They put him back outside and before long, they figured that he had taught himself how to scale the climb and join his human friends.  Needless to say, a Renny mountain fence was built.  In each of his many foal, weanling and yearling adventures, Renny has shown a calm spirit, bombproof nature, and an ability to think on his feet about the problems that pop up in life!
